Extraction Equipment
Extraction can be done with either liquid or solid phase protocols in a manual or automated process. The method and equipment used for extraction depends on the type of specimen, the subtype of nucleic acid (i.e. genomic, viral, fragments), the purity and quantity of nucleic acid needed, the amplification protocol being utilized and laboratory considerations, such as throughput, ease of operation and cost.
