Un coloide abundante es una caracter\u00edstica de lesiones tiroideas foliculares benignas, mientras que un coloide escaso origina la sospecha de malignidad. \u00daltimamente, sin embargo, las caracter\u00edsticas nucleares y la arquitectura son los criterios utilizados para diagnosticar las lesiones malignas. Diagnostic Cytopathology, Volumen 30, N\u00famero 1, Enero 2004, p\u00e1ginas 7-13, contiene un art\u00edculo muy \u00fatil de Mark A. Tulecke y Helen H. Wang, titulado &#8220;ThinPrep\u00ae for Cytologic Evaluation of Follicular Thyroid Lesions: Correlation With Histologic Findings&#8221;.
